Cases list against PFI:
PFI members have participated in a number of terrorist attacks and the death of several people, the most of them were from Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. According to the MHA, the killings of Sanjith (Kerala, 2021), V Ramalingam (Tamil Nadu, 2019), Nandu (Kerala, 2021), Abhimanyu (Kerala, 2018), and Praveen Nettaru (Karnataka, 2022) among others, were committed only for the purpose of upsetting the peace in the community.

Through banking systems, hawala, and contributions, the PFI was able to raise money from both domestic and international sources. According to MHA, the extreme group used these monies to engage in a number of illegal, criminal, and terrorist operations in India.

In NEW DELHI: The Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associates, affiliates, or fronts—named precisely eight of them—were declared by the Central government on Wednesday to be a “unlawful organization” for a term of five years under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
The ban comes days after a nationwide, coordinated crackdown against the PFI by the National Investigation Agency, Enforcement Directorate, and various state/UT police was carried out in cases relating to terrorist activities, funding for terrorist activities, training for terrorist activities, and radicalization of vulnerable individuals by leaders and cadres of the outfit.
The eight “associates, affiliates or fronts” of PFI also banned as “unlawful association” are Rehab India Foundation (RIF), Campus Front of India (CFI), All India Imams Council (AIIC), National Confederation of Human Rights Organization (NCHRO), National Women’s Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala.
The ban was recommended by the state governments of Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka and Gujarat, the Centre stated in the notification banning PFI and its fronts.
